The Shogun Lotus Embossed Leather Belt

We just wrapped watching the series, Shogun, and it seems like a perfect name for this one!

Our signature Lotus pattern on our rich red Blood Thirsty leather with matte copper foil embossing on the top. Sealed with two layers of our proprietary protective coating.

Damn, this belt is beautiful. I was saving this red vegetable tanned leather for fancy bag handles but I wanted to see how it would take to embossing. Turns out: absolutely gorgeous! I coated the red embossed belts with two layers of my proprietary protective coating and it gave the belts a beautiful luster. It’s slightly thinner (8/9oz) than my heavy duty black and brown embossed belts (9/10oz) but still very strong. It will break in a little faster than the black and brown embossed belts. It features a raw contrasting edge and rivets are reinforced with metal washers (when rivets are chosen as an option.)

Embossed Leather Belts: Our original artwork is engraved into solid brass wheels for our refurbished 1950's era embossing machine. With a few hundred degrees and many tons of pressure the emboss is seared into the leather.

Foil Embossed Belts: Foil is heat applied to the surface of the leather and sealed with two layers of our proprietary protective coating.

Belt life and care instructions:

Like any belt you will see more wear in the middle of your belt where it curves to your body, and where the buckle connects to the leather when cinched. Belts that don't curve to your body generally have a synthetic core. Our belts are 100% natural full grain leather. NO split leather, NO composite leather.

  • Leather belt gets slightly wet - Wipe off with clean cloth.
  • Leather belt gets soaking wet - Do not wear while wet. Lay flat to dry. Do not apply heat.
  • Leather belt gets dirty - Use a lightly damp soft cloth to wipe away dirt. Let air dry.

What to expect:

All leather belts curve and form to your body as natural leather should. Your belt will show more wear and tear where it connects to the buckle and where it ineracts with your belt loops.

Hot Stuffed Wax Embossed Leather: Starts with a clean finsih and quickly begins to develop a patina as it is used and ages. Expect it to scratch easily and develope a lot of character. This is not a leather you treat nicely. Throw it around and watch it become your favorite belt. Use a leather balm to even it out its age and deepen its color. Smaller details in the leather may become less noticable over time.

Foil Print Embossed Leather: Foil prints will wear harder with abrasion and wear but they are still very tough, aided by two coats of our proprietary protective finsih are applied. You will see more noticable wear and tear where the buckle connects to the leather.

All Other Embossed Leathers: Expect your leather strap to develope a patina and mold to your body.
