After getting back from the whirlwind trip to Ohio to buy my surplus riveting machines I knew i needed to spend a little time with Fred. When i am gone too long he can be a sad little puppy. So Nikki and I took him to Mt. Vernon in Virginia. Mt. Vernon is George Washington's plantation, which is now a historical landmark. The best part is, they allow you to bring your dogs on the grounds.
Basically he peed on a lot of historical buildings. Just kidding! Just the bushes near the historical buildings. But the most amazing part of the day was Fred's interaction with the sheep on the plantation. Usually whenever Fred sees four legged animals other than dogs he goes nuts, but it was as if he instinctively knew that sheep were to be protected. At least that's what my Border Collie friends tell me, that many dogs have that herding instinct to protect and rein in sheep.
Here are a few fun photos from the day. And tomorrow the riveters come off the floor and into place in the shop.
